Privacy
NOTHING LEAVES
YOUR DEVICE.
SMPLER has no account, no login and no server. It does not collect personal data, does not send anything anywhere, and does not use any analytics, advertising or tracking service. This page explains exactly what that means — and the few places where anything at all is exchanged.

The short version
Your samples, your projects, your recordings and your settings live on your device and nowhere else. We never see them. There is nothing for us to sell, share or lose.
In the app
What SMPLER does not do
The app contains no third-party software development kit of any kind. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no fingerprinting, no profiling and no automated decision-making. The app makes no network requests to us or to anyone else.
- No account, no sign-up, no email address required to use the app.
- No microphone access. SMPLER does not record from the microphone.
- No access to your photos, contacts, calendar or location.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no data brokers.
- No cookies, no tracking pixels, no device fingerprinting.
What stays on your device
Everything you make: imported samples, projects, scenes, recordings, exported stems and your app settings. They are stored in the app’s own storage on your iPhone or iPad. Because file sharing is enabled, you can also reach your own projects and recordings through the Files app on your device — that is your storage, not ours.
Deleting the app deletes this data. Back it up first using Menu → Export if you want to keep it.
Purchases
SMPLER Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the transaction; we never see your name, your payment details or your Apple ID. The app receives only whether your subscription is currently active, so it knows which features to unlock. That check happens between your device and Apple.
Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Wi-Fi transfer
SMPLER can receive sample files from a computer on the same local network. When you start a transfer, the app opens a small server on your device that your computer connects to directly. Your files travel from your computer to your device over your own network and never touch a server of ours — we do not operate one. The transfer stops when you close it.
Files you export
When you export a recording, stems or a backup, you choose where they go — the Files app, an external drive, iCloud Drive or any other destination you pick. Once a file leaves the app, it is governed by whatever service you sent it to, not by this policy.
On this website
smpler.art
The site has no contact form, no newsletter platform, no analytics and no cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser by us.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore requests those files from Google, which necessarily discloses your IP address to Google in the process. No other information is sent, and we receive nothing from it.
- Email. The buttons on this site open your own mail app. If you write to us, we receive what you send — your address and your message — and we use it only to answer you. We keep the exchange as long as it is useful for support, and we do not add you to any list, sell it or pass it on.
- Hosting. Like any web server, the host may keep short-lived technical logs of requests. We do not use them to identify anyone.
Rights & scope
Children
SMPLER is a music instrument for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and since it collects no personal data at all, it collects none from children either.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. In practice the app holds nothing of yours to give back, correct or delete — the only personal data we may hold is an email exchange you started. Write to us and we will delete it on request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In France that is the CNIL.
Changes
If a future version of SMPLER ever changes what it does with data, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. We will not quietly start collecting something.
